SAE
All proficiency and degree applications must derive from a valid SAE as defined by the Oregon FFA Association SAE Policies (see below) and must fit into one of the National FFA Proficiency Award areas.
A student’s SAE is considered appropriate and applicable for a state FFA degree when the teacher and student is able to answer “yes” to question 1 and “yes” to either question 2 or 3.
1. Does the supervised experience involve the application of agriculture content standards and employability skills?
AND
2. Does the supervised experience contribute to the production, processing and/or marketing of an agricultural, horticultural, or natural resource products or the scientific research of an agricultural product or process?
OR
3. Does the supervised experience provide a service for the industries of the AFNR cluster?
Policy will start affecting the members of the graduating class of 2023 that apply for their state degrees or proficiencies submitted in 2022
